TRANSFERS – It had been in the works for a few days: Tom Willis will no longer be a Union Bordeaux-Bègles player next season. The English third center line has signed up with Saracens, as confirmed by the English club on Thursday evening on its social networks. With this return to the country, Willis has the ambition to integrate the XV of the Rose in the long term.
Undisputed leaders of the Premiership this season, the Saracens will further strengthen for next season. The London club announced the arrival of Union Bordeaux-Bègles third center line Tom Willis via a press release. The former Wasps player will therefore know his third club in two years, since he had joined the Gironde during the season following the liquidation of the Coventry club.

Tracked by the new coach of England, Steve Borthwick, in particular for the next 6 Nations Tournament, Willis wishes to return to his native country in order to give himself a chance to perpetuate himself within the XV of the Rose. “I’m incredibly excited to join Saracens, they’re a great club with a fantastic group of players and coaches and I can’t wait to be a part of them next season.”Willis said.
Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall welcomed the arrival: “We are delighted to welcome Tom to Saracens. He is a player we have admired for a long time and we are confident he will enjoy huge success here in the years to come.”
To replace him, the UBB has already ensured the signing of the Japanese third line Tevita Tatafuwhile another third line is sought for next year.
