North Korea. Kim Jong-un promises nuclear responses to threats, UN worries

The number one north korean Kim Jong-one promised to respond to the nuclear threats of the United States with nuclear weapons while attending Friday, November 18, 2022 thetest of the new North Korean intercontinental ballistic missilesaid the official news agency KCNA.

North Korea, isolated on the international scene, carried out an intercontinental ballistic missile test on Friday, shortly after warning of “tougher military responses” strengthening the presence of the United States in the region.

With her family

Kim Jong-un said threats from the United States and its allies pursuing a hostile policy pushed his country to “significantly accelerate the strengthening of its nuclear deterrent”.

“Kim Jong-un solemnly declared that if the enemies continue to pose threats, […] our party and government will resolutely respond to nuclear weapons with nuclear weapons and to all-out confrontation with all-out confrontation without mercy”reported the agency KCNA.

The North Korean leader was overseeing the launch of his “monster missile”the Hwasong-17, with his daughter appearing for the first time in public.

Extremely rare, KCNA – the only source of information from Pyongyang – mentioned the family of Kim Jong Un, stressing that the leader had gone to the launch accompanied by his “beloved wife and (of her) daughter”.

He first appeared alongside a young girl whose age is not specified, dressed in a white down jacket and red shoes.

This is the first official confirmation of the existence of Kim Jong Un’s daughter, according to experts.

The UN Security Council meets

The US Mission to the United Nations has held that the 15-member Security Council has a responsibility to protect global peace and security and the principle of non-proliferation, and to enforce its decisions.

“We call on all members of the Security Council to take these responsibilities seriously, and to condemn the wrongful and dangerous behavior of the DPRK.”wrote the delegation, using the initials of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the official name of the country.
