The Director General of Industrial Development at the Ministry of Industry, Ahmed Salem Zaid, revealed that the date of entry of the first car imported into Algeria will be during the first quarter of next year.
Ahmed Salem Zaid said during his appearance on National Radio Channel 1 that most builders and agents interested in car import submitted their files to the ministry. By specifying that between 110 and 120 requests were recorded. Emphasizing that this number may decrease. Especially since the basic condition for carrying out such an activity is that dealers must have a license from the factory that owns the brand to guarantee the technology and safety of the vehicle.
The manager also explained in the same context that the specifications also obliges importers of new vehicles to only supply cars of one brand. Thanks to a contract binding it to a car factory to avoid the monopoly of the sales activity. As the license must come directly from the original factory in the country of origin.
