The Real Madrid-Atletico Madrid clash was the highlight of the Copa del Rey quarter-final draw.
The draw for the quarter-finals of the Copa Del Rey was held this Friday at the headquarters of the Royal Spanish Football Federation. Real Madrid inherited capital city rivals Atletico Madrid. The other quarters in the draw are: Osasuna – Sevilla, Valencia – Athletic Club and Barcelona – Real Sociedad.
The matches will be played on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26. Osasuna-Sevilla and Barcelona-Real Sociedad matches will be played on Wednesday, while Real Madrid-Atletico Madrid and Valencia-Athletic Club will be played the following day.
At the Santiago Bernabéu
Each quarter-final will be played in a single match on the ground of the team that came first in the draw and, as for the round of 16, in the presence of VAR. Therefore, the Madrid derby will be played at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. For the semi-finals, the matches will be played in two away legs.
